What qualifies you to buy what we sell? In other words, when do you typically
start thinking about going to a day spa and what problems are you looking to
solve?: |

Initially, my wife purchased a one hour massage for me as a Christmas present.
The gift was something I wouldn't have thought of doing for myself. I must
admit I was a bit apprehensive at first, but the massage was
relaxing (I have been known to nod off during the massage) and slightly
addictive. While I did not go to Greenleaf Day Spa (GDS) looking to solve any
physical ailments, I did learn about the need to make time for myself -- if
only for an hour every three weeks. I can assert, unequivocally, that I really
look forward to each visit.

That's a great question. Being a complete over committed wife and mother, also
known as the "house manager”, I consider this role a tough one, especially for
an obsessive compulsive person such as myself. I never allow myself to relax
mentally or physically. When I have an appointment set with Mark for a
massage, it is something that I look forward to greatly. It is MY time, I don't
have to share it with anyone. I know that I will be in a complete different
body and state of mind when my massage is over. My batteries are recharged and
I can then go back to my "role" refreshed and ready. So, to sum it up for you,
when I think of going to a day spa, I don't think of going just any where for a
massage service, I choose Greenleaf, I choose Mark and I leave happy.

I typically decide to go to the spa for many different reasons. When my skin
starts looking dull and dry or when I begin to have breakouts,I like to
schedule a facial. I regularly schedule waxings to remove unwanted hair.

When I first called to schedule a massage, I just felt like I deserved a bit of
pampering. I was feeling 'low' because of something that had happened to me at
work and I needed something to make my spirit feel good. I was scheduled with
Mark and the experience was such an excellent one that I now come back each
month. I deserve it!! I work long hours in a fast-paced environment so stress
builds up without my even realizing it. I often find myself rolling my
shoulders on the way home from work to help relieve the tension. I look
forward to my monthly visit with Mark. A good massage heals both the body and
the spirit and I highly recommend it for anyone and everyone.

I start thinking maybe a day ahead. I don't like to book a month in advance.
Normally the problem comes from tension, over lifting, and just to relax and
have the time not to have to think.

I used to consider going to a day spa for a treat or when someone gave me a
present and I was able to use a gift certificate. Now, it is out of necessity
that I come to Greenleaf. I am trying to solve tension problems in my neck and
back that cause extreme tension headaches.

Pure stress relief and relaxation devoted just for me. I spend my professional and social life dedicated to assisting others in some meaningful way. In an executive level professional position, I have a sedentary lifestyle in front of a computer and on the phone. I have found that the Greenleaf Day Spa treats me like royalty with world class service in a setting of friendship and comfort like I am the only person in the world.

I began visiting spas specifically for massage treatments over ten years ago. I have made a committment to get a deep tissue massage on my shoulders and lower back once a month in order to relieve stress and tension. I also visit a day spa monthly to get my hair cut, occasionally colored, and my eyebrows waxed. I will on occasion, visit a spa and take advantage of their other services. For example, I have gotten manicures and facials at spas in the past. I tend to select these services when I am looking to "treat" myself to something
special.

Generaly I have back waxing done every 4 wks. On occasion I indulge in a massage.

I start thinking about going to a day spa when I realize that my stress level
is affecting my body (having pain/tension in my shoulders, or headaches) or my
sleep hygiene. I often look to not only reduce my stress level, but to care for
my skin and its needs, whether it's lack of hydration or chronic problems like
lines/wrinkles and hyper-pigmentation.

I love it when my husband buys gift certificates around holidays, such as my
birthday, our anniversary, and Christmas and the end of a school year (I work
at a local middle school). These dates are spread out throughout the year,
March, June, September and December, so 3 months seems like the perfect amount
of time to elapse, and I look to spend time in a spa. It's my time to relax.
I am looking for time to decompress with no phone, no one calling "Mom", no
computer, getting off my feet and thinking of NOTHING! With a facial, I look
for a relaxing treatment and smooth, glowing skin when I'm through, sans
pimples, bumps etc. I have a herniated disc and fibromyalgia and massage
therapy does wonders for them both.

I have discovered that the older I get the more aches and pain my body inflicts
on me. I have a lot of arthritis and love working outdoors. A good massage
works out all those aches and makes me feel normal again.

The first sign that I need a massage is when I FEEL the stress from my job -
headaches, tightness in my shoulders, tingling in my fingertips. Outside the
stress level, I like to get a massage for relaxation. Usually once a month (or
so), I'll call just for that reason.

I am a registered nurse in a busy ER and I work 56-72 hours a week (on night
shift at that!). I have a lot of problem with tension headaches and back
tightness which seems to improve with massage. I use massage as a form of
therapy and not necessarily a luxury only.

I am an active person and always on the go with my family. I love to workout
in the gym. I enjoy resistance training the most but also participate in the
classes they offer. To be quite honest, I think of going to the spa
frequently. I am always saying to my friends how I want a massage especially!
However, money & scheduling doesn't always allow me to follow through. I do try
to maintain my waxing throughout the year. I REALLY get serious about a
massage when I am feeling a muscle "kink" or tightness from working out. I also
get bad headaches from time to time. I can only find relief with a massage.
I also enjoy facials and try to do that just when I'm feeling like my home
facial regimen is leaving me feeling "dull" or just not as clean! I have sinus
problems throughout the year and sometimes the sinus pressure is to much. I
have found relief with opening up the nasal passage and sinuses through massage
as well.

I typically think about coming to the spa when life gets very rushed and I feel
very tensed. I feel like I want to escape. I start thinking about how nice it
would be to go to the spa where it is nice and quiet and where I know I will
come out feeling rejuvenated!

I have Fibromyalgia and have found message therapy to be the most beneficial in
managing the discomfort.

I lead a very busy life so, I do not always take the time to take care of
myself. Because of this I start to feel deprived and resentful. I know that if
I don't take care of myself that my family will ultimately suffer. I like to go
to the spa to pamper myself with massage and facials. I use the spa facilities
for pain relief, stress relief and to feel pampered. As soon as I enter the
door I know I made the right decision because the atmosphere is created to
leave your cares behind and I can do that and leave refreshed and ready to take
on the daily stresses of work, family and chores, plus I know I have done
something just for myself and this makes my relationships with others more
enriching. When I take the time to pamper yourself I am better prepared to take
care of my family and no I longer feel resentful towards others.

I have neck pain every day related to TMJ. I call and get a massage appointment
when it gets really severe, when the muscles are so tight it restricts
movement, or when my back is affected as well. I expect the massage to loosen
the muscles enough to ease movement, reduce or get rid of pain, and allow my
spine to move back into proper alignment if it's twisted out of place.

I typically look to visit a day spa after a large culmination of stress has
entered my life (taking hard classes, working out or exercising vigorously,
generally just being super busy/cluttered) or if I have reached a significant
mile marker in my own life (this could be a birthday, end of semester exams,
after the Holidays). I am a student and consider what I am doing to definitely
be like having a job. Anytime, I have a large 15 page paper or a 2 hour seminar
class discussion to lead I consider it to be like a project for work. Whenever
I am able to overcome these hurdles, I think it's important to give back to my
body and give it some fine tuning since often times the work and stresses of
our lives make us sleep a lot less, carry more stress in our bodies, and in
general just forget to relax and breathe. If a spa can help me do that and help
my body recuperate I am very in favor of making a visit to the spa.

The reason I started thinking about going to a spa is how your skin starts to
change with age. Age and environment play a big role in your skin from day to
day. When I started going to a spa for my face care I needed someone to look
at my skin and tell me what I needed to keep it healthy and young looking
instead of just buying all kinds of products that did nothing for me. Routine
facials have kept my skin looking and feeling great. Also, using the proper
products also help in my skin care. Also when I started feeling my injuries I
needed someone with skill and knowledge of the body to help me feel better when
I was not feeling good.

My job requires that I sit at a desk and stare at the computer for hours
daily. This creates stress in my neck, arms, shoulders, and lower back. I
started going to Greenleaf 3 years ago for massages and facials. I now go once
a month for an hour and a half massage to work out the kinks.

I have had severe back pain for about 10 years, until I came to this spa.
There is not a single vist that I have been to that I have not left feeling
refreshed, relaxed and pain gone. I have found that massage therapy is the
only releif I can find for my back pain. I visit this spa on a regular
basis to avoid having Physical Therapy.

I initially was looking for an afternoon escape from all of stress and realizing
I needed to do more to take care of me. But the obvious medical training when I
received the full massage that identified muscle issues made me realize for my
own good health, I needed to get my muscle system back to normal after many
years of my body taking alternative means of supporting my back.

I am a registered dental hygienist. I have been practicing this profession for
10 years now. my type of work takes a toll on you physically and mentally. I
have a lot of neck and shoulders problems and also back problems. Having a
regular massage of 90 mintues each time enables me to continue in my
profession. The massage relieves not only stress but also works out the knots
and rigid muscles that are due to the postures that hygienist use to perform
their duties. Hygienists are prone to injuries due to repetitive movements.
Working long hours sometimes as many as 10.5 in one day takes a toll.

I always think a massage and/or a facial will help me feel better - and days
when I am particularly busy or stressed out I find myself thinking that I need
to make an appointment. I know I will have an hour of uninterrupted relaxation
that will help me turn off my mind and recharge. I also know it will help me
feel better and sleep more soundly.

I think about going to a spa quite often. It is the first thing I think of as
the perfect gift for me. As a mom, I tend to put everyone and everything above
my needs, so it is difficult for me to justify spending the money on myself. My
life is so hectic with kids, husband, house and work. After I receive a
treatment I feel so relaxed, so wonderful. I just need to get past putting
everything before myself and realize that things seem to go smoother when Mom
is relaxed.

I usually start thinking about a spa treatment when I've been under a lot of
stress.

I have a very stressful career as a real estate Professional. I take my job
very serious and I tend to create stress by doing so. My stress seems to
always find my neck and shoulders to settle in on. Massage therapy is great at
helping me relieve the pain and burning sensation in my neck and shoulders.
Over all the massage helps me to relax. Massage therapy is lots more than a
feel good hour, it is therapy that in time can change the way I handle
stress. It is important for my well being.
Sheila B. |

I consider massage therapy an important part of my personal physical
maintenance. By that I mean, massage helps me feel less stressed and more
relaxed. Plus, it makes me more aware of my body and my bodies overall well
being. I like to schedule regular appointments for massage and not wait
until there is a problem.
Sheryl F. |
| |
Unfortunately, I wait until my body is aching or my face looks really bad. I am
a last minute person and therefore go on impulse. My schedule used to be very
chaotic, so it was hard for me to schedule too far in advance.

When life stresses you to the max I start looking for relief and your spa is the answer. Just to be able to be carefree for a little while and forget the real world.

I was diagnosed with scoliosis at the age of 13 which required surgery. The surgeons had to take a bone from my hip to implant a stainless steel rod to my spine in order to correct the 42 degree curvature of my spine.
I am now 38 and I have constant back pain, however, a deep tissue massage relieves the stress of the constant pull of my muscles surrounding my spine. Mark has been incredible in understanding the mechanics of my body!
Wendy M. |
| |
I have 2 herniated disks and root posterior damage in my lower back. I have
known for years that I would never have back surgery and the two things that
give me relief are deep tissue massages and spa therapy.
