Describe any kinds of problems, frustrations, or annoyances you have experienced in doing business with a day spa:

No problems at all. Brooke takes very good care of me --- she knows that my travel schedule is complex at times and is great about reminding me about scheduled appointments. The ambiance at GDS is wonderful --- preps one from the moment you open the door. The sounds and fragrances prepare one to relax.

None with Greenleaf, at all. Now, as for other spas that I have patroned prior to being a committed client to Greenleaf, I can say that customer service has always gotten my attention. Some spas have it, and some spas don't.
Amy F.

I really have not experienced any problems or frustrations.
Christy M.

My recent experience has been only with Greenleaf and I've had no problems. I have no desire to try other day spas and possibly experience some of the events this question is tracking.
Dianah F.

No water being offered. Slamming of doors. Cell phones ringing(including my own if I forget to turn it off)!!!! Running out of massage oil is really, really irritating. I have not had any of these problems at your spa.
Donna C.

I have had no problems or frustrations at all. One time an appointment I made was forgotten but Greenleaf more than made up for it by giving me a credit for my next appointment, and for an extra half hour to boot. Also, I understand that these kinds of things happen.

Through my employment, I am transferred across the country periodically. My experience with a great number of day spas is lack of caring and a cold environment where you are merely an appointment and get it over with to get to the next person and go home. Often an hour massage at other locations means 45 to 50 minutes, not an hour. Additionally, other day spas just rub lotion on your skin and don't really provide a massage at all. At the Greenleaf Day Spa, I have always received a full 60 or 90 minute therapeutic massage of the highest quality, which ever I scheduled, and it is always in an environment of a warm and casual friendship.

I am bothered when technicians don't take time to discuss problem areas or, if discussed, don't focus their energy in those areas. For example, my skin changes with the seasons and the treatment given during a facial should reflect that change. Similarly, when getting a massage, I always state that my shoulders and lower back are my problem areas and I hope that is where the majority, if not all, of the time is spent during the session. I am also annoyed with spas don't use the products that they sell. I want to know that a quality product is being used during the service. I also want the opportunity to try out a product before I make a purchase. Finally, I tend to build relationships with specific technicians. By doing this, I always know that I will leave satisfied with my experience. I am bothered when I make an appointment with a specific person and someone different "fills in."

None. Have been going over a year.

Mostly scheduling when I can fit "relaxation" into my busy schedule. I tend to live by the "law" of synchronicity, thus I schedule my services the day I want/need them rather than planning them in advance. This is more my own contribution to the problem than it is the day spa's Occasionally, there are times when the previous customer's service runs over the expected time and my service then starts late. Given again, my own schedule, I have had to reschedule certain services because there have been times when I could not stay, given the lateness.

I get so frustrated when a massage therapist talks during a massage. If I'm having a service done in a common area, it can be disturbing when one employee has a conversation with another while they're supposed to be putting all their attention on the service I'm paying for. Surprises when paying the tab are uncomfortable if I expect to pay one price but the total is higher with little or no explanation. Discomfort during a facial with an explanation’s not good. A technician who is overly pushy selling products is a turn off.

Too much shiatsu. Indifference to what hurts. And the worst experience I had was when the therapist did something that caused a three day fierce headache. I wish I knew specifically what he did to give more information. However this is an issue of knowing your therapist and trusting in his judgment of what is best for you.

I haven't experienced ANY problems with GLDS; however, I'll list some that I've had with others: running behind schedule, employees gossiping, massage therapist wasn't at the spa for my appointment - they substituted someone else, therapist didn't seem to be qualified...
Kathy G.

I'm very fortunate that most of my spa experiences have been pleasant ones. The only complaint I've had was with an out of town spa...I felt rushed and didn't receive the entire amount of time in which I had paid. There were no appointment reminders either, which are very important to me with my crazy work schedule.

Frustrations that I have experienced with a spa are feeling rushed during and/or after my service. Not listening to a request I have had, particularly when during a massage.(pressure is to light or to much) I like a deep tissue massage, I can't handle those with wimpy hands. I may be thin but you won't break me! I LOVE a glass of water after a massage and it's nice to be offered one!

I have not experienced any disappointment when coming to Greenleaf. It has always been a very pleasant experience. I feel like I get excellent service.
Leiah M.

All great experiences at Greenleaf Day Spa. I have not had all pleasant experiences in the past at other spas due to a lack of understanding of how to best work with Fibromyalgia.

I do not like it when a serene atmosphere has not been created in advance of my arrival. It annoys me if the therapist is late and hurries in right before me to begin lighting candles etc., which should have been done prior. I come to relax so, when he or she seems hurried then my mood is ruined. I also get annoyed when other clients do not observe the spa's rules and regulations and I have to hear their cell phone ring. I think all spa's should have brochures explaining their policies and all clients should take the time to read the policies and adhere to them for the privacy and comfort of other clients.

I really hate it when a massage therapist doesn't seem to know the meaning of the word "appointment," letting other things (non-emergencies) take precedence over the time that I may have gotten off work early for. It's also very irritating when someone writes the wrong day or time down in their appointment book and doesn't show up when they said they would. Also, some massage therapists are very chatty and like to ask personal questions that make me tense up when I'm trying to relax. If I'm in the mood to talk, I'll start the conversation. Not that they can never ask any personal questions, they can, especially if it's health-related and relevant, but not too many and I don't usually want to talk during the entire massage. These massage therapists were not at day spas that had skin care; they just had their own practice or worked with chiropractors.

I don't like to have my appointment delayed because of earlier dilemmas or problems with the schedule and I don't like to feel uncomfortable (having a noisy or too busy of a feel) You go to a spa to escape those things! Once in the room with the staff member, I want to feel comfortable and that's the main thing. So, I expect the staff member to be courteous to how I am responding to the treatment and I also want to feel comfortable to respond however I would like (i.e. talking, not talking, or asking questions if I want to.)

Doing business with someone who does not care why you are there. They are just doing another job with another person instead of being caring and personal.

As I mentioned before, I have been going to Greenleaf Day Spa for 3 years now. I have not visited another spa since my first visit to Greenleaf. Prior to that, I had experienced very high turnover for associates at other spas. It is uncomfortable seeing a new massage therapist until you become relaxed and used to that person. In six months time, I had seen 3 different therapists. I always wondered why it was so difficult to keep employees. Also, you do not always 'get what you pay for'. It is very irritating to not feel relaxed when leaving a spa.
Michelle W.

Therapist talk the entire visit. This has never happened to me at Greenleaf.
Missy W.

What few others I have spent time at made me feel uncomfortable. Employees grumbled in front of me. Bad atmosphere - superficial care. No interest in me and my needs - I took from it what I could, but didn't go back.
Pam B.

Thus far I have never had a problem visiting a day spa. I have found them to be quiet, soothing and a positive experience. That is why I am so glad that Cartersville has such a wonderful place to visit. Very convenient for me.
Patty W.

Therapists not remembering that I am a returning client; spa being closed on weekends or not open past 5 p.m.
Rebecca U.

I hate to have a service and have the technician constantly talking to me and not truly addressing my needs. I have had people want to tell me their whole life story and not really hear a word I am trying to express to them. It is
not that I don't care about them as a person, I am just trying to relax and forget about EVERYTHING for an hour.
Rhonda H.

I loved every minuet of my visit. It was exactly what I was looking for.
Sarah B.

I don’t like to go for a service and the service I receive be minimal and then the content of the visit be on trying to sell me products. I want the experience first and then a chance to see if the product is what I want. I also get frustrated when the surroundings are noisy during my spa treatment.
Sheila B.

I have been to spas in the past for massage that didn't really listen to what I was wanting or needing from them. They basically just rubbed lotion on my back, arms and legs and that was it. I want to leave the spa feeling the effects long after the massage is over and not like I've wasted my time and money.
Sheryl F.

I guess I sort of answered this question above. At other spas I have been frustrated to go in for a massage and it take 10 minutes for the therapist to prep on what I consider my time and the last 10 minutes they give me to dress. Instead of a full hour I feel like it only lasts maybe 40 minutes. Another bad experience occurred because the therapist was chewing gum and blowing bubbles during the entire massage. This was a total turn off and I never returned.

Often, spas are recommended, and you spend several hundred dollars just to be herded through the line as if you were traveling I-75 in rush hour traffic! Those are the spas I only attend once.
Wendy M.

When going to some of the major name day spa's like spa sydell or spa jolee in Buckhead I have felt like a number. The old expression herd them in and herd them out applies.
